A TRADITIONAL PSYCHOTHERAPIST…NOPE!
Officially trained as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Loyola University Chicago, my focus was treating mental health issues with a specialty in substance and behavior addictions. This great eduction taught me how to listen and guide you through life's ups and downs. HOWEVER, it was my own life and the choices that became my greatest teacher.
Through my own pain and discomfort, I learned that connection is our resiliency and how we maintain that connective tissue can determine the quality of our lives. My hope is to help you be more curious about your own life-choices, take responsibility when necessary, and continue to emotionally grow and thrive with those you love. So how do we do this?
Using talk-therapy, I hope to assist you with emotion identification, healthily coping skills, and teach you assertive and empathic communication skills. Untraditionally, I will be inviting you to practice mindfulness, positive visual imagery or light hypnosis, role-play, grounding, resourcing, and physical movement to heal from your painful past or traumas.
